A quick reminder of who's who in Concourse City
Readers of No Stress Space Express meet a lot of folks in Concourse City and elsewhere on the Romari Mothership. Maybe too many to remember ‘em all. Here's a handy reference guide to sort ‘em all out.
They’re in alphabetical order, by first name, unless all they have is a last name. And sometimes by their title. I tell you what, alien phone books are a mess.

Arlo is a spider-like alien with four arms and four legs. As Dock Superintendent, he manages the mothership’s cargo operations. Arlo wields his authority with kindness, and is willing to bend the rules to help others.
Calder leads expeditions to harsh and dangerous environments when he’s not running his rugged outfitting store, Deep-Route Depot.
Clarisse is a hard-working squep who operates a loader suit in the mothership’s main cargo bay.
Dahlia Budson is a teenage plant-girl, with smooth, barky skin and hair made of flowering vines. This happy-go-lucky sprout is kind and serene, and helps keep The Eclectic Pantry running.
Doctor Kraylek is a scaly older fella with the bedside manner of your favorite grandpa. He’s a seasoned relief worker who’s seen it all but still has a spring in his step and a smile on his face.
Doctor Lennox is the Chief Medical Officer of the Romari Mothership. This orange-skinned physician has long fingers and an extra thumb on the other side of each palm, perfect for performing intricate surgical procedures.
Doctor Saro is a giant blue slug with empathic powers that can “smell” your feelings. Though many are initially put off by his appearance, he is calm, kind, and wise.
Doctor Vren is a stork-like avian who speaks through a translator device strapped around her throat, but her warmth and wry humor come across in any language.
Ebba is the yellow-skinned proprietress of a service corridor donut counter. This pointy-headed, unibrowed lady serves up coffee and witty banter to the morning-shift crowd.
Erlene is the quirky, purple-skinned reptilian proprietor of “Hang-Ups & Holdovers: Fine arts for Old Farts.” She has an eagle eye for matching the perfect piece of weird junk to the right customer, and isn’t afraid to share her particular brand of eccentric wisdom.
Feebee is Karlie’s first mate, a slender Grey alien who looks like she stepped right off a UFO conspiracy website. Despite her fragile physique, she’s a workaholic with a dry wit and deadpan snark.
Gaffik is a blue-feathered, parrot-faced alien who works as a beam tech, controlling cargo loading on the Romari Mothership. Despite his wonky language translator, he’s friendly and tries his best to be helpful.
Gar-E is the cheerful robotic waiter at Renn and Segma’s Bistro, known for his deep baritone singing voice. Despite being a machine, he’s like a son to Renn and Segma. Gar-E has a warm personality and takes pride in his work, and in his karaoke nights.
Gus is the blue-skinned cook at Cuppa Kapowzi. He’s a man of few words, too busy with his grill to bother with pleasantries.
Jenna Moondrift is a sweet, adventurous Martian girl who dreams of exploring the universe. She may be a blonde knockout with a bubbly personality, but she’s also resourceful, determined, and capable of devouring an entire barbecued tentaclops. Jenna loves her purple spaceship, Glitterbug. And maybe also Mike…
Karlie Brikkhauz is a towering ,blue-skinned space trucker with demon horns and the muscles to match. Captain of her own cargo ship, she’s strong, brave, and a wicked flirt. Despite her intimidating appearance, she’s a gentle giant, always ready to help a friend in need.
Leef Budson is an old hippy of a plant-guy, with skin like tree bark and a beard of green stems. He and his daughter Dahlia run The Eclectic Pantry, selling exotic groceries and homemade food at their lunch counter.
Mellory is the kind old woman who runs Sweetvault, Concourse City’s finest candy and confections shop.
Mernard is a squep who works in the main cargo bay, and a skilled loader-suit operator.
Mike Harlan is Rusty’s best friend and business partner. A skilled mechanic with a knack for electronics and computers, he balances Rusty’s mechanical know-how with technical expertise. Despite his dry sense of humor, he’s deeply loyal to his friends and always ready to jump into whatever crazy situation they find themselves in.
Mirel is a shoulder-high, monkey-like alien with chestnut-colored fur who runs the hardware store, Halo Homeworks. Though this redheaded primate is agile and spry, she always seems a little uncomfortable in her own skin, and welcomes friendship where she can find it.
Naft (Big Naft, to his friends) is the seven-foot-tall, furry proprietor of the Hauler Bay 19’s local laundry service. Looking like a sasquatch made of dryer fur, he trades witty barbs with customers while getting out the most stubborn stains in the galaxy.
Nan-C is the sassy robot waitress from Cuppa Kapowzi, with a beehive hairdo made of copper wool and swinging hips that squeak when she walks. She’s famous for her perfect coffee and down-home wisdom. She loves friendly conversation, served with a side dish of sass.
Noki is a tiny, pixie-like alien with gossamer butterfly wings and pink skin. Despite being only six inches tall, she runs the Comm-Unity Solutions kiosk in Concourse City.
Paff is the polite and soft-spoken proprietor of the Slumbernook mattress store. This short, sponge-like squep must wear a special filter to breathe a shared atmosphere. He loves helping his customers find the perfect place for sweet dreams.
Piper Skyflare is a Martian Sky Force lieutenant with a mischievous streak. Despite her military training and tough demeanor, she’s quick to laugh and quicker to join in on shenanigans. She’s smart, capable, and not afraid to get her hands dirty. Though she can be competitive and hot-tempered, she has a big heart for those she loves.
Ran-D is a “newborn” robot, who is naïve and curious about the world, and the customers he meets at Zorp’s Spacecraft Supplies.
Renn is a mantis-like alien chef who owns a bistro with his wife Segma. He’s a gentle soul with a passion for experimental haute cuisine that sends humans running for the hills. He takes pride in his cooking and genuinely wants to please his customers, even if his idea of fine dining doesn’t always align with theirs.
Rocco is the quartermaster of Karlie’s crew. This pot-bellied, gator-like trucker is a man of few words, but boundless kindness.
Rusty Ray Dixon is a laid-back Alabama trucker with a heart of gold and a solution for every problem. Quick with a joke and handy with tools, he approaches life’s challenges with folksy wisdom and unshakeable optimism. Despite his self-deprecating humor and casual demeanor, he’s sharp as a tack, and deeply loyal to those he cares about.
Segma is a green blob-like alien who owns a bistro with her husband Renn. She’s a warm and welcoming hostess who treats her customers like family. Her body may quiver and jiggle, but her hospitality never wavers, and she’s always ready to lend a helping pseudopod.
Selani is a travel agent at Orbit & Oasis, the premier travel agency in Concourse City. A young, professional woman with gold-colored skin with bronze stripes, she specializes in planning romantic honeymoons.
Skut is the bartender at the Decompression Chamber, the favorite watering hole of the Romari Mothership’s trucking community. A squat little alien with a broad, lumpy face, Skut is gruff and salty, but never unkind.
Teezer is a feline member of Karlie’s crew. This flirty calico cat-girl had dexterity to spare, and doesn’t respect your personal space. Inseparable from her twin brother Tony.
Tina works at Halo Homeworks with Mirel. This kidney-bean shaped girl is bubbly and enthusiastic, always aiming to be employee of the month.
Tony is a feline member of Karlie’s crew. He’s a smooth-talking charmer, and an ace in a cargo-loader suit. Partners in crime with his twin sister Teezer.
Vandrell is the official liaison between Mothership Command and the hauler community, and doesn’t seem all that comfortable with it. A bureaucratic administrator at heart, he works behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly.
Zorp, son of Zorp, runs Zorp’s Spacecraft Supplies. This elephant-skinned merchant is more than just a parts dealer—he’s a fountain of technical knowledge and practical advice. Always ready with the right part or tool for any job, his shop is a crucial resource for anyone with something that needs fixing.
